Ultimate File Manager (package that extends the functionality of Total Commander and Multi Commander File Managers) was created out of the need to create a tool that will make working on your computer easier. A tool that will allow you to perform any task in a simple and thoughtful way. A tool that will be consistent and modern. A tool that will be fully customizable, that will look how you want and do whatever you want. I sincerely hope that Ultimate File Manager serves you well in all your tasks (from the simplest operations to the most complex). I also hope, dear user, that you could have completed each task faster and better by focusing on getting the job done, not on the tool itself.
As you undoubtedly know, Ultimate File Manager is provided COMPLETELY FREE. That will never change. Soon it will be 10 years since its first release! Incredible! Thank you for this. Thank you for your trust and for choosing my software. It's thanks to you, despite many obstacles, moments of doubt, and financial problems, that I continue to develop this project. I've learned a lot and spent thousands of hours making it even better. For You.
If you want to share your opinion, need help, assistance or want to ask a quesion please contact me by email or this Feedback Form. Be nice and kind. Always give plenty of information about your problem. There is no technical support by telephone or social media. Everything you need to know is described on this website or documentation.
After all these years, I have to ask myself (and above all, you) a question: have I managed to meet your expectations? Does an external file manager still make sense these days? Does UFM, which extends the functionality of Total Commander and Multi Commander file managers, stand out among existing solutions? Does continuing to develop it in this form make sense? If so, could something have been done better? Perhaps there's a functionality you're missing? Perhaps there's something that annoys you, something that could be done differently, better? I hope this application will help me assess the situation. I'd also like you to share your vision for UFM's development. I'd like you to tell me what could be improved, what could be changed. What could be added. What do you think? Perhaps my vision needs to change? I'd like to focus on a few aspects:
As I mentioned, the UFM project has been, is and always will be FREE. But unfortunately - as is often the case in life - nothing is free. Nothing can be created without incurring costs. That cost is my personal time and money (which, unfortunately, I don't have).
So, do you have any ideas on how to support the project? How can I make people understand that every product involves hard work and expense? Despite my efforts and requests, your financial support is MINOR. I'm sorry to say this, but unfortunately, that's how it is.
If you can afford to donate, please do so - it's not like someone else will probably help (unfortunately not!) - do it here and now - You. Thank you!
UFM is distributed in two versions (UFM and UFM MEGAPAck). They differ in the availability of external applications (created by third parties).
External applications, specially selected and properly configured, perfectly complement the file manager, allowing you to perform many tasks directly from the file manager. The advantage of this solution is its compactness and ready-to-use functionality immediately after installation (everything is carefully thought out and properly configured). Unfortunately, it also has many drawbacks:
So, does this distribution method still make sense? I'm considering a different distribution model that would utilize applications already installed on the user's hard drive. A model in which the end user is provided with a consistent and lightweight UFM build that, after installation, allows them to run user programs (the most popular ones would be automatically detected, and the user would be able to add any program they want). Of course, it's not as simple as it seems...
Do you think it's time to abandon UFM MEGAPack and adopt the external application model discussed here?
Do you think it might be worth looking into tools like Winget (Windows Package Manager - easily find, install, update, remove, and configure applications on Windows computers)?
One of the pillars of UFM are internal applications – these are simple and functional programs that extend the file manager's capabilities with a range of functionalities. These include:
Do you think they fulfill their role? Is the integration with UFM satisfactory?
Is there a program missing that would provide specific functionality?
Do you have an idea for another program?
Internal programs are an integral part of UFM, meaning they are always installed and can only be run within UFM. Do you think it's a good idea to create equivalents that can be run outside of UFM?
Are there any features you think could be improved in terms of functionality, usability, or performance? What could be made more intuitive or more efficient? What do you need?
Are there any specific features you'd like to see in UFM? What new applications would streamline your workflow? What new functionality would improve your file management process?
Have you found any bugs, annoying issues, or something that doesn't work as you'd like? Tell me what could be improved. What do you think could improve file management in UFM? Please include the following information in your bug report. This is important.
Dear user, I kindly ask you to read above text and share your opinion about UFM future. It will only take a moment, but it can make a huge difference. Use below form. Remember, no suggestion is too minor or too ambitious. I'd like to ask you to get involved and share your thoughts and new ideas. Your contribution will have a direct impact on the further development of UFM! I look forward to your feedback! Thanks!
